Maitland Greyhounds will conduct a point score challenge in 2022 with two great overall prizes for owners and monthly prizes for trainers.

The Aussie Infrared Maitland Greyhounds 2022 Point Score Challenge kicks off at our first meeting of the year on Monday, January 3.

The owner of the point score winner will receive an Aussie Infrared vial at Sires on Ice Calga and the owner of the runner-up will receive an Ebby Jet Power vial at Sires on Ice Calga.

A monthly prize of free trial tickets, free race day entry tickets or free race day meal tickets will be awarded to the trainer of the dog with the most points for that month.

Points will be awarded to all runners at every meeting, with eight points for first, seven for second, six for third, five for fourth, four for fifth, three for sixth, two for seventh and one for eighth.

Any dogs that dead-heat will share points. Points will also be shared for races that start but are called a “no race”. In the case of abandoned meetings or abandoned half meetings, no points will be allocated to races that did not start.

Any dog disqualified for a positive swab (regardless of circumstances) will have points deducted. Any trainer or owner in front at the end of the competition that is disqualified at the time of completion of the competition (31/12/2022), will not be eligible for the prizes.

Vials must be used within 18 months to be eligible for replacement in the event of no pups. Other conditions may apply, check with stud master.
